Back to work

Thank you to all of you that have asked about me and wished me well at work and online. I really appreciate your concern and thoughts.

I'm back at work today and feeling pretty good, besides the day dragging along. I go to the doctor tomorrow for a check up on things. I'll be sure to update everyone on the situation then. Again thank you everyone!

I'll leave you with some cool quotes for the day to think about.

"Patience and diligence, like faith, remove mountains." ~William Penn, founder of Pennsylvania.

The two most powerful warriors are patience and time." ~Leo Tolstoy, Author.

Quote for the week 1/3/2011

Here's another quote to ponder about.

"You can't expect to win unless you know why you lose"
~Benjamin Lipson

This is true whether your playing Street Fighter, Baseball, or going for that promotion at work. You will never succeed if you can't take the time to go back and analyze your failures. If you can't at least try to understand why you make mistakes then you are doomed to repeat them.

Think about it.

Until next time.

Quote for the week 12/27/2011

Here is another quote from the inspiring, Mr. Bruce Lee.

"If you want to learn to swim, jump into the water. On dry land no frame of mind is ever going to help you."

~Bruce Lee

This quote hit home for me personally because I tend to learn better by doing rather than watching. I can read about doing something but until I actually do it, it probably wont make total sense to me.

Even if this isn't the case with you, at least remember that the entire picture isn't complete until you've acted on your preparations.

Alternatively, when facing a challenge, you can try to mentally prepare yourself for it all you want, but you wont get anywhere until you finally face the challenge head on.

Something to think about.

Quote for the week: 12/20

Here's another quote for for the week for you.

"Vision without action is a daydream. Action without vision is a nightmare."

~Japanese proverb

You can take this one a few ways. One might be that to have a goal that you're not willing to work for is little more than a dream, while working hard without a goal is meaningless.

Or perhaps that making a strategy without the means or willingness to follow through is fruitless, and that rushing into a situation blindly without strategy is reckless.

Regardless, perhaps it's best to keep both sides of this quote in mind the next time you have to prepare for something.

Quote for the weekend: Bruce Lee

It's kind of a hobby of mine to collect various inspirational quotes. Not only do i like to read them, but also try my best to apply them to my life and other hobbies in general.

I've decided I'd like to start sharing those with other's each week in the hopes that they may touch the readers here too.

The first quote is for this weekend comes from legendary martial artist/film star/philosopher, Bruce Lee. Think about it as you visit your families this weekend.

"Real living is living for others."

~Bruce Lee

My thoughts:

This statement should be taken literally. When you live your life for your loved ones more rewarding paths will open up to you rather than taking a selfish standing for yourself. I understand this more than ever being a father and a husband.

Now dont stop looking out for yourself. That's the shallow meaning. If you do things for yourself that make your loved ones proud then that is living for others too.

Until next time.
